Our ever-late Asher Merrick

Asher Merrick is always late. Whether it's work, plans with friends, or even just getting out of bed in the morning, he never seems to be on time. He even manages to trouble the author, delaying his own creation as if he’s determined to keep things on his own schedule.

He’s the kind of guy who strolls into a movie theater 15 minutes after the previews, weaving through rows of annoyed theatergoers, bumping into knees, elbows, and popcorn buckets, all while his friends silently curse his timing and wonder why they still invite him. And yet, despite the chaos, people can’t help but forgive him. It’s hard to stay mad at Asher—his grin and easygoing nature make it impossible to stay annoyed for long.

It’s this laid-back, unbothered nature that makes him easy to connect with—whether it’s Althea, always lost in her own thoughts, or Achilles, whose self-pity keeps him at arm’s length from the world. With the same laid-back attitude, he effortlessly nudges the author into revealing the name of the main protagonist—and even a hint of his character trait, despite the author’s best efforts to keep it a suspenseful secret.

Now, let’s dive into Asher Merrick’s world—beyond just his charming habit of showing up fashionably late. There’s more to this guy than meets the eye, like his uncanny ability to make even a trip to the grocery store sound like an epic adventure. Let’s see what makes him tick… or rather, what makes him buzz.

Asher slammed the brakes on his own character arc, turning to glare at the author - 'You really thought you could write me like that? Think again, pal!' To be continued in Part 2.
