Resilient Spirits

Walked along the path,

an arduous one,

chose it or was made to choose,

undeterred and unscathed.

One can break the spirit, but still, it breaks,

feeding another's ego for a hollow triumph

like a tree that bows to the storm,

standing its ground once weathered.
